Finished quilt and Civil War Bride block

Last night at 10 o'clock I finished the binding on the Nursery Rhyme quilt.
Just as well, because today was our granddaughter's birthday. She will sleep with it on her bed tonight.
I had quilted it on the machine - first time for me....!

Last week I finished a Civil War Bride block, but because my sister from Holland was here, I waited until now to show you. It was fun, and I chose to embroider the strawberry crowns.

Now I shall have to catch up on cleaning the house.....
Have a nice evening.
Jane

Oh, Jane. The quilt for your granddaughter is exquisite! So cute! She must have felt like a Princess when she got it! I's like a story book. Dang, I wish my grandmother or mother had quilted when I was small (or that I had children now for whom I could quilt)...
Envious greetings from the Rhine,
Brirra

Your strawberries are so sweet. I love the idea of mixing appliqué with stitching

Your Nursery Rhyme quilt is so lovely.... and the quilting is great!! especially for your first attempt at machine quilting!!! - I'm still stuck on squiggling and meandering! Your granddaughter is a very lucky little girl to have this special present from her grandmother, something to cherish forever!

Hello Jane,

Congratualtions on your granddaughter's birthday! I wish I could have seen her face when receiving this quilt from you ... You must have had loads of kisses and hugs :) What a lovely idea she will sleep under it, heerlijk!
Those strawberries are so sweet and real as well, wow! You make such beautiful things!!! I am curious already to see the next block.
I didn't have any time the last days and I ache to make some stitches, but I fear there won't be much time this weekend (birthdays)... my time will come again ...

Have a great weekend!
Groetjes, Carolien

Sweet quilt and I so love your CWB block. That one has been sitting on my sewing table waiting for me for far too long now.

Your Civil War Bride Quilt block is lovely. I like that you used different fabrics other than green for the leaves.
