Three houses..............Drie huisjes..............

In between doing the applique, I put together, by hand, the first three houses of the Home Sweet Home quilt. (From the book by Barb Adams and Alma Allen). It is beginning to look like something!

The Album on the Mary Simon block looks more like a book now.... I did get a few questions about the overlay and some other things. I'll talk about that next time.

The sweet little cream jug in the photo has a story behind it. When I still lived in the Lake District, before I got married and moved away from there, I often visited my friends, Mr and Mrs Bright. They had an enormous house with at least 10 bedrooms, and large grounds. Every time I went there Mrs Bright gave me a little bouquet of flowers fresh from the garden. She called it a 'Tussie-Mussie'. On one occasion she also gave me this sweet old cream jug.
I still often pick small flowers from the garden, and so the 'tussie-mussie' tradition is carried on.

The weather has been beautiful, and then the garden is calling quite loud! While I was weeding I suddenly saw this little March violet, ....like a sweet spring surprise....

Have a nice day!

Fijne dag allemaal!

Jane

I love the little houses! And the Mary block is looking great. In answer to your question, I tried the overlay and it drove me nuts. Then in the summer humidity, it did some horrible things. With the method I use now, it is worry-free. (For me, at least)
