ZIG ZAG

Al mijn huiswerk is af....

All my homework is finished...

The zigzag border is also done, so I can wait for the next part of Esther's 1790 Love Entwined.....

The corners have been appliqued on, with needleturn as usual...

Elk driehoekje is weer anders...

Every triangle is different....

And do you know why I feel incredibly happy?
There is no more Floriani fusible stabiliser inside the diamonds.

I had used them instead of freezer paper, to  hand-piece the diamonds to each other. But after I had appliqued one border on one side, I thought it felt rather stiff.
So....I got some tweezers....

Hier liggen alle slachtoffers.....en mijn stof voelt weer heerlijk zacht en zonder iets 'vreemds' erin!

Here are all the casualties in a heap....and my fabric feels lovely and soft without foreign bodies in there...

Ook de buitenste sterbloemen zijn af.

The outside star-flowers are finished too.

Now I can carry on with quilting Catalina's Paradise quilt....

Fijne dag!

Have a nice day!

Jane

Jane, you are so efficient. I wish I had the time and energy you have. Bravo!

Groetjes,
Floor

Your applique is so lovely and precise! You have a way of making it look very simple when I know very well it is not!:)

Beautiful!

I am so enjoying watching this come together. I'm just learning to applique so I won't be attempting this for a bit. I am collecting the parts so I can start making the center for a wallhanging after I've had a little more practice.

lovely!! my zigzags too feel stiff and I do not know if I will leave it in. I hope to start sewing tomorrow on the zigzags.

Erg mooi geworden.

Love your LE top. I am still waiting for the moderators to let me join the group. So I can't start it. But I did enjoy seeing yours. Beautiful!

Prachtig!

Looks beautiful. Can't wait to start the next part!

Beautiful. Thanks for the tip about removing the stabilizer. I've been debating about appliqueing the zig-zag just because I don't want any extra bulk around the edge when doing the rest of the center. Does it feel do-able? I am guessing it does.

Marijke said...

Prachtige zigzagrand Jane!

Well done on your progress, it's staring to look lovely and rich with your fabric choices. The Floriani is easy to get out, that's another thing that's useful about it.

Your quilt centre looks great and your handwork is absolutely faultless!
I am using the C & T fusible washaway for the first time and I have been in a bit of a quandary as to how to go about the zig zag border. IO have sewn a few together via the English Paper Piecing method but I am beginning to think good old needle turn applique may be the way to go for this border.
I have really enjoyed your posts on the LE quilt, they have been very helpful.
