".......Caswell..."

First of all thank you all so much for your good wishes and nice comments. It is going a lot better now, even though I still have to use one crutch for several weeks, but at least I have one hand free!
I had promised to tell you about my new project. It is not totally new, because last year I fell in love with the Caswell quilt by Corliss Searcey, and in January I had made one block.

Now I have decided to make the rest of the blocks, as the Home Sweet Home quilt is almost finished.
I use two background fabrics....

...en doe het op mijn needleturn manier......

.....I am doing it in the old fashioned way of needleturn....

...and keep an eye on the neighbours who look very contented...

.....and very soon the next block is finished. They are not very big, only 11 inch square.
The blocks are lovely and interesting to make. The photo is a bit hazy, because the light was not very good.

It is raining a lot, with mist, something Wales is very good at...

Fijne dag!

.....so I am carrying on with the next block!
Have a nice day!

Jane

Goed handwerkweer :)

I am so delighted to see you stitching and blogging again, I missed you,ha ha!
I do hope you are recovering from your hip surgery, each day should be a little better. I looked after my Mother with both of her hip replacements, it's a very nasty operation to have, the recovery is very painful at first! I will think of you and send good thoughts your way!
Your applique on the Caswell blocks is exquisite! As always I love your fabric choices.
I am so pleased to see you have picked up your Love Entwined again, please post a photo showing the whole border piece. Ditto for your Home Sweet Home blocks, I would love to see them all!
I have also painted on and off over the years (I went to Art College when I left school)and have loved seeing your watercolours! Take good care of yourself and your poor recovering body. Cheers, Rowena

Dear Jane

Your birds is beautiful, love the way you fussycut the wings, it give your applique so much feeling. Your paintings is amazing, I get to read your blog, you may not realized how many of us appreciate your art work, especially when all we see is snow, ice and the colour white for half the year. Commening on blogs, I don't do much, I thought you needed to know, what you do is touching very many of us in the world. Thank You, keep on going, we need you to paint the canvas of life, with the beauty that surround you. It is such an incredible gift, to give of yourself in this amazing manner. We feel blessed!

Jane, I'm glad your hip is getting better, even though the progress may seem slow to you. I hope you're doing physical therapy. They can get you going faster.
Your sketches are so beautiful! You really should think about making them into quilts.
As another commenter said, Please post your completed Home Sweet Home top. I'd love to see it. I know the LE quilt takes a lot of everyone's time, so I'm happy to see you working on the Caswell quilt as well.
Take care.
