"..Bloemen en Besjes.........Flowers and Berries.."

As you know, I am making the Caswell quilt, by Corliss Searcey. The pattern was inspired by the Caswell carpet in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
There are black and white and colour photos of each block in the pattern, and I so enjoy making this quilt. On the left is my journal where I put the colourphotos and write down anything relevant, and also any changes I make.

In the beginning a block always looks a mess....

But with the plastic overlay on top it looks a bit better....

The berries are last....

And after I have embroidered the stems the third block is finished.

Het weer is opeens veel mooier,

The weather is a lot better,

Fijne dag!

but because I cannot walk very far yet, I am carrying on with the following block!
Have a good day!

Jane

SO lovely to see your blog is up again Jane I did miss it and you. Thanks for the tutorial on your lovely block Jane, such tiny perfect berries; I always learn from you. Stunning clear skies and rolling green hills change from seeing it in flood LOL. Hugs glenda

Weer zo'n mooi blok. Jij gebruikt ook zo'n plastic overlay, handig he?

Even een vraag:

Your berries and embroidered stems are perfection! If only the block could really be stitched as quickly as it came together in your blog post... :-)

Jane, I love your blog and hope your walking continues to improve - it is a blessing that you love sewing. Your patchworks are stunning but your watercolours are particularly beautiful and atmospheric.
I do some patchwork but mainly embroidery and I would love it if you would have a look at my blog which is also about living in the Oxford country as a vicar's wife.
