Spring!..... Lente!

Spring is really here! Everywhere in the fields are small white jumpy figures, with clear little voices...hundreds of lambs with their proud mothers...

And everywhere daffodils spring up, along the roads - it is like a local weed...:o)

Maar niet alleen lammetjes....

But not only lambs....

Hier is nog iemand die verstoppertje speelde...

Here is someone else who tried to play hide and seek....

In the meantime I have been busy with drawing around lots of freezer paper templates for my new block.

Totdat alle stukjes netjes op kleur liggen in plastic zakjes.

Until all the pieces are ready, by colour, in small plastic bags.

And then it can start. The old iron is firmly standing on the pattern overlay to keep it in place....

And slowly more and more pieces are pinned down....

...until I can baste the first pieces. (I tried glue, but it just isn't for me).

Buiten is het prachtig...

Outside it is beautiful....

...en er wordt hard gewerkt.

....and there is a lot of work going on.

Some sheep love the sunshine...

...en anderen gaan aan de wandel.

...and others go for a walk.

En vind je dit geen leuk advies?

And don't you think this is good advice?

Fijne dag!

Have a nice day!

Jane

Specially like the sheep, as usual. But the rabbit was quite a catch!

Your post brings a smile to my face. Such lovely photos. Wow! What a block! It will be amazing when finished. I don't like to use glue either.

Very good advice, yes.

You are working almost as hard as Mother Nature!

You are making great progress on your latest block - Good for you! I hear you regarding glue. I never liked it either. Your surroundings appear so beautiful and peaceful. I would love to have some sheep. A never ending supply of sock yarn :) Our Spring is not as far along as yours. Our daffodils and tulips are only a couple inches above ground and probably won't be ready to bloom for while yet. I can't wait.

your project looks so complicated how lovely it will be when finished. Good to see the spring lambs, I miss them as where I lived before I could see them from the bedroom window. Trust spring is still with you though I half suspect you had some snow yesterday, we has a sprinkle and it as very cold again.

I love Spring it is my favourite season! I tried glue for appliqué but did not really like it, I think I used too much! Do you thread baste everything in place before you start to stitch?

Groetjes,
Floor

Beautiful work, Jane! I always love it when I get to the stitching part of an applique block, as the preparation can make me a bit impatient!
The sign made me laugh out loud - brilliant!

Groetjes,
Ann
