"Home Sweet Home blocks..."

In between the Caswell blocks I have been finishing the Home Sweet Home blocks.
First the strawberry house with my initials...

And the bunny house (do you see them?) with the year on it.

The top three blocks were already sewn together, so yesterday I sat down and stitched the middle blocks together....

Do you really do that by hand? Yes, I just like the soft look better, and it does not take that long, look......

A little later the last row was done...

....and then I could stitch all the rows together. Early this morning before church I made the last stitches, and my beloved was quite willing to hold it up....

But this afternoon the weather was so beautiful that we sat outside - what would it look like on the washing line?
It is almost like stained glass.....

"Would you mind holding it up again in the shade?"

Now I don't want to make the border as it is in the book, because I have a few fabrics that perhaps might look nice, like this dark red one?

Of deze mooie blauwe?

Or this beautiful blue one?

Of misschien roze?

Or perhaps pink?

Of zou deze toch het beste zijn?

Or would this one be the best?

Tomorrow I shall get to work on it.
And I could just leave it hanging in the garden of course, looks quite nice....

Fijne dag!

Have a nice day!

Jane

Jane your work is always amazing. I just LOVE your Home Sweet Home. I'm in the middle of BB Designs Quilting the Garden now -- Home Sweet Home is on the list for the future. It's amazing how different the colors look from inside to outside to shade. I vote for the burgundy or pink - only cuz I'm partial to those colors - they all look lovely.

groetjes

They are all just beautiful. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but I think I like the red fabric for the border.

Oh, oh, oh! I just LOVE that quilt! You did a beautiful job! I have that book and have wanted to make that quilt. Last night I worked on Love Entwined and spent a lot of time on your blog. Your instructions are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing them! I have been able to get to the point of putting the compass block onto the background of the center block! I couldn't have done it without you! Now I'm using your blog to put the crown on the block. Again, thank you so much! Cheery wave!

Stunning blocks...I love the pink border with it...keeps it all soft and country rose like.

I've got about half my blocks finished and I'm desperate to get back to them, but teaching has me doing other things.

I love your Home Sweet HOme quilt! May I ask what book the pattern is from? I am so glad you are feeling well enough to blog again!

Home Sweet Home is looking stunning. I have the pattern book and am waiting until I have finished the Di Ford Mystery quilt and I still need to quilt my spools quilt. Not sure I can cope with another UFO!

Balsemien said...

Prachtig!
