"Stonefields Sweethearts..."

This week I have been up to my ears in Stonefields blocks and fabrics. this beautiful quilt, designed by Susan Smith, is addictive!
A week ago the first month's patterns came for thirteen blocks, and now they are finished.
First you see the fourth star..

It is not certain if that one will stay in one of the corners, or move to the centre of the quilt. Because a few days later I received this lovely fabric with small cherubs, from Anne Marieke, and this romantic quilt is asking for little angels!

Toen de Orange Peel blokjes...

Then the Orange Peel blocks....

Daarna kwamen de Pomegranates aan de beurt,

After that it was the turn of the Pomegranates,

...and they became sweethearts, you could just write a novel about them. How the little boy next door became the love of her life or something like that. It just fits in with this quilt.

En toen de lekkere St Honore taart...

And then the lovely St Honore Gateau...

...not just one, but two. They remind me of when I lived in Holland, and used to visit a tearoom in Utrecht, where they had wonderful St Honore gateaux.
One of the circles has a bit of the romance again....(click on the picture to see it larger)

As if it isn't cheerful enough, there is Willie's Birthday.

The very last one is the sweet Posy Pot, that reminds me of a little boat with waving flowers.

And now it is waiting for the next pattern, next month.
Not that I shall be bored. I am going to prepare hexagon flowers, and flying geese for the borders, and then there are the Caswell blocks that are lying forgotten on the table.
Till next time!

Jane

Your Stonefields is going to be very special, just like your other quilts.

How about you make that extra star with the sweet angels, so I can do a bit of catching up LOL

Enjoy the journey! It is so much fun.

Oh, Jane -- each block is more lovely than the last! I love your orange peel blocks, and the fussy cut sweethearts in your pomegranates, and the other blocks as well. It is obvious that you put a lot of thought and care into the selection of each fabric before a single stitch is taken.

Hi Jane such lovely colours in your Stonefields blocks. What a joy it is to follow yourself, Elaine and Anne Marieke on this lovely journey you are all making it your own but what a great learning curve it is for me to see your skills with the needle turn these gorgeous pieces of fabric in to your own blocks. Cheers Glenda
