I like Ascension Day, even though it is not even a Bank Holiday in this country. But I have lovely memories of my childhood in Holland. Somehow the weather was always beautiful on this day. First we went to church, and then in the afternoon we went for a walk, and watched the queue of cars trying to get over the bridge. And there was always a special treat - an ice-cream!
Today is also a special day because I finished my last block for Hope's quilt!
And I also made the stars that are going to be appliqued around this block.
I did not design this quilt myself. When we were in rented accommodation last November, all our furniture, and all my fabrics were in storage. All I had with me was my Dear Jane quilt, and a Baltimore block.
When I was browsing the internet, missing my fabrics, I fell in love with a Nursery Rhyme quilt from Australia. I ordered the patterns and some fabric, and started soon after Christmas. So now I can start to put it together. So exciting!
And finally the view from my sewing room......
Have a lovely evening!

Mooi blok is het geworden Jane.
Ben benieuwd hoe de quilt er straks uitziet. Je hebt vanuit je kamer wel een prachtig uitzicht zeg.
Hello Jane,
What a lovely view from your room! I want to go to England immediately, sigh :)
That cherry blossom is so rich and beautiful too.
Your block is great and so are the stars, I am eager to see the final result!
Have a nice weekend!
Hartelijke groet, Carolien
