Civil War Bride block and Stars

Today I finished my first block for the Civil War Bride reproduction quilt. It is an Australian pattern based on an American quilt called Bird of Paradise. There are 20 blocks and an applique border, so I have made a start!
Yesterday I appliqued the stars on Hope's quilt. I received some of the fabric for the borders in the post this morning, so that will be next.

Maybe I should show you a picture of our granddaughter who will be 3 in June. I am making the quilt for her. She does not know it yet, and I hope she will like it!

It is early evening now, and the birds are singing in the garden, so I will join them for a little while!
Till next time,
Jane

I love block #1. Who else would have thought of putting a horse on the vase? And I like the birds, too.

Hallo Jane,

Als je me je adres stuurt, maak ik een schaapjessiggy voor je, dat vind ik leuk om te doen!
Als je de stof eromheen graag in een bepaalde kleur wilt, roep je maar ... :)
