23 Tulip Hill Drive........Het Tulpenhuisje

I wonder if the inhabitants of this house are Dutch? Tulips in the garden, and a beautiful Amaryllis on the windowsill.

Whoever they are, it is not so easy to please them. First they wanted a pink roof, then a black one, and now it's probably going to become a red one...

And the other plants in the garden....not easy to do, even with the bias tape made by my little Clover thingy.

Never mind, tomorrow is another day!!

Maar we gaan morgen weer vrolijk verder!!

Hi Jane, I had trouble replying to your comment, but I just wanted to thank you for your well wishes with us here and all the flooding. Thanks so much... I really appreciate it. We are still dry here, the roads are closed, but so far, so good.

I prefer the darker roof, I think. (Unless the red one is tiled, but then you would have to change the house to a Mediterranean one!)

Hi Jane, Isn't it every quilter's delightful dilemma to have a wealth of choices for roofs and flowers. Personally, I don't care for the Clover bias thingy; can't seem to press the bias strips flat. I prefer cutting strips on the bias, fold in half, spray heavily with starch, press, stitch along cut edges, fold again, starch again, press again and vine is perfectly stuck together, wonderfully flat and pliable. It makes a thicker bias strip, which I like for added dimension. This method gives great control over sizes too.

Groetjes Hennie.
