"...Dilemma..."

There are 15 different 3" blocks in the Sundial coverlet. The last ones of these are now finished.
This one was fun to make, with all the curved piecing...

The fabric in the centre of this one reminds me of myself when we bought the farm.....

Really, I was very naive, falling in love with this farm and the fields. You will hear more about this when we start on the blocks with the out-buildings. But heart and reason do not always follow the same path....

And another one....a variation on the clamshells...

There are a lot of flowery fabrics in these blocks, because I put the garden full of flowers...and in the strangest places I managed to plant my favourites - hydrangeas, all different ones - after several years I had 27 varieties...

So what was my dilemma?
I have 15 little blocks, but I need 24.
First I thought - just repeat some, but I really wanted all different ones, because in Balmesh nothing was 'the same' either.
Then I thought that I could make some Dear Jane blocks smaller.
But suddenly my husband said "Why don't you design them yourself, all based on something in Balmesh..?"
Yes! Of course, that was it!
So I started drawing. I'll show you next time.....
Have a nice day!

Yes! Natuurlijk, dat was het.....
Dus ik aan het tekenen. Volgende keer meer........
Fijne dag!

Jane

I like how you used the background fabric in the first block. The stripe effect is what I mean.

Zelf ontwerpen, natuurlijk!

I like the contrast of stripes with other patterns. I never cease to be amazed by your work. I always look forward when I open my reader to there being a post from you.

My son should be having some lambs born soon. What animals do you have on your farm?

Your blocks look wonderful and I know you'll come up with some great ones. A friend of mine made that quilt and put lots of blocks with personal things in as well.

I started with today's posting and "backed into" all the rest until I got to this one. What a lovely project you have going! I love the tiny blocks, original designs, lovely fabrics, and all your stories. Wonderful!
