"Goodbye Facebook!"

As many of you know, I was on Facebook for a while, really for my quilts, and to meet my old quilting friends who were no longer on the Yahoo groups. Which is why I called myself Jane Quilter on Facebook. And this was my profile picture.

Of misschien had iemand mij gerapporteerd.

But Facebook perhaps thought that Quilter was not a real surname (although there are lots of surnames like 'Quilter' and 'Patch' etc), and so I was removed. Or perhaps someone reported me. No possibility of contacting anyone (FB is manned by robots) or to be able to change it, so I shall now continue happily without Facebook, and I hope to write my blog more often! I shall also restore my old website, where I can put everything more orderly, with my tutorials, and all my Dear Jane blocks etc. It is still under construction.

In the meantime I shall carry on with my Mary Simon block.

Fijne dag!

Have a nice day!

Jane

Fijne week

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Facebook. I've never really used it much. I do love to see what you're working on - your Applique is always exquisite and I am inspired by your work :0)

I mainly just use facebook to keep up with my very large family and have never opened my page up to others but keep it private. Recently one of my nieces got married and wanted to change her facebook name to her married name "Smoke" well I guess facebook didn't think that was really her name and would not let her change her name without proof!! how strange I had never run across that before. Well look forward to seeing you blog more :)

Jane, this same thing happened to me about a year or so ago. I am always concerned about online safety and security, especially in some of the groups. I provided the required identification so that I could keep using my Facebook account, but I was not happy about it.
I look forward to following you wherever you go online. I so enjoy your tutorials and wonderful pictures. And I enjoy your friendship.

I love reading blogs. The posts stay there, and you can have them printed into a book if you like. Much easier to search for something on a blog too.

Welcome back go blogland.

Oh well, one less thing to keep track of - and more time to stitch!

I, for one, do not like facebook and missed your website and blog so I am very happy that you will blog more. I love the photo of the sheep in the meadow that you have and hope that you will always keep that. It brings me peace, which we all need more of. Your work is beautiful.

I do not do Facebook for several reasons but I do know from experience that my employers regularly check it. So wonderful news that you will be blogging because I love your work! Your sheep picture reminds me of the 23rd Psalm.

I do not like Facebook at all! - there's just so much 'Stuff' floating around on the page that I find it hard to navigate and read. I signed up with it for a course I was taking and I combined the names of my two cats to come up with my Facebook name and so far, I haven't been deleted. I am thrilled to read about your new blog! Your stitching is always so beautiful, your countryside is amazing, and I think your tutorials are the Best!!

Lovely to read about your new Website and I look forward to seeing how you integrate it with your Blog.

Jane, I could not be happier for you! I have had a Facebook account for years and I have been so frustrated with it lately that I only go on once a week to see new quilts! You are lucky they let you go! My friend tried to shut down her uncles' site after his death and she had to produce a death certificate. Honestly??? I most definitely have a love hat relationship with the Internet, but I do feel I can handle the pace of a Blog. I'll continue to be a regular follower of yours!

Hi Jane,
I really look forward to your Blog, your quilting/applique is divine and such an inspiration. I also missed your frequent blogging over the last twelve months or so and I look forward to keeping up with you more often.

Facebook is something which never appealed to me, my privacy is important to me. I follow your blog and your work is beautiful. Keep on quilting, quilters are the best.

Just got my computer back from the Geek Squad, all fixed and functional, again, at last. So, I've been out of touch and I'm so glad I discovered this big piece of news! I've been deliberately weaning myself away from Facebook, as I saw that it was gobbling up my beloved sewing time and I wasn't getting as much sewing done. So, I applaud your change, although the method in which it has happened is another HUGE disappointment in Facebook. I'm thrilled that you will continue blogging, though, my friend, as following you has been one of my greatest online delights! I'll just nibble away at my chocolates and enjoy staying in touch!

I used my nick name on Facebook and they did not let me into my acct until I uploaded my drivers license !! To prove my name .. I could not believe it ... Anyway I decided to make the acct only for messages for my immediate family and took all friends off. Good reddens Facebook, that place is terrible anyway . Its a political cesspool for whatever junk you wish to push.. Im done too.
