"Mary Simon in Winter..."

Last time I showed that I was working on the next Mary Simon Baltimore block. In the middle of January I had finished it.

Hier een close-up van het vogeltje.

Here is a close-up of the little bird.

Het is prachtig om hier te wandelen. Ik houd echt van winterse kleuren..

We love going for walks here. I really love the colours in winter.

On the 4th January we saw these little early spring lambs. I was hoping that they could snuggle up in a warm shed at night!

Onderweg was er ook deze paardrijder...

On the way we saw this horse-rider....

And at the end of the afternoon we saw these beautiful colours on the mountains....

The post brought a lovely surprise from Carin in Holland. She knows I am besotted with sheep!

In the meantime I put all the Mary Simon blocks together....only 17 more to make...:)

We wandelen bijna elke dag. Het is altijd zo mooi..

We walk nearly every day. It is always so beautiful...

..en natuurlijk even schaapjes bekijken..vooral de Herdwick schaapjes...

...and there are always sheep to look at...espcially the Herdwick sheep....

I had started on the next Mary Simon block, which I wanted to get finished before 14th February.

There was a nice eye-fabric on one of the shelves...

....and I succeeded in finishing it before Valentine's day.

In February our daughter, son in law, and the three grandchildren stayed with us before they emigrated to Texas in America. I am so glad Skype exists!

Then there was snow on the mountains again...

...en soms hele dreigende luchten.

...and sometimes very threatening clouds.

Best indrukwekkend met sneeuw erbij..

Quite impressive with the snow...

And now I am working on the next Mary Simon block.

Fijne dag!

Have a nice day!

Jane

beautiful quilt blocks! I hope your family loves Texas - that is the next state over from me. It looks like you have many beautiful places to walk near you.

Jane, I am so enjoying following your Mary Simon journey. Your blocks are exquisite. You are making such a treasure. I read your post where you describe how you make your tiny bird's eyes, and you make it look so easy. But I can attest that it is not easy. Most of my birds don't have eyes LOL :) Thanks for sharing the pictures of your blocks and also that lovely scenery where you live - it looks so peaceful and bucolic.

you have certainly settled in the Lake District and doing plenty of walking. No snow this winter in Leeds but suppose we could still get some.
Lovely blocks what a glorious quilt you will have when completed.
I expect you will be off to Texas soon to visit your family
