Young Woodpecker and new Block

Just as I was going into my sewing room I saw him running up the tree, so I grabbed my camera and got him!
He was there for a little while, enjoying his lunch. A coaltit came looking and was not so impressed....

Then I ironed the latest block for Hope's quilt. Only one more to finish!
The nursery rhyme goes like this:

Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Hello Jane,

How nice, a woodpecker! We had one in our garden some time ago, for the first time, and I was all excited (bouncing like Tigger all day :).
Your block is beautiful! That nursery rhyme is very funny. There is a pattern of Margaret Sherry with more or less the same picture, now I know where it comes from! I am only a very beginner at quilting, so I am deeply impressed ...

Have a nice evening & hugs, carolien

Hi Jane, gefeliciteerd met je blog. Ik vind het leuk om te lezen wat anderen bloggen en om te kijken wat zei vermeldenswaard vinden. Je kinderrijmpjes zijn reuze leuk. Veel succes ermee!

What a beautiful block. The woodpecker photo is great. We get them on the farm, but I am never close enough for such a nice photo.
